Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois

Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois (TRS) was created in 1939 by the Illinois General Assembly to provide retirement annuities, survivor and disability benefits for public school educators outside the city of Chicago. It has two office locations; the main office is in Springfield while a regional office is in Lisle.
