Alberta Teachers’ Retirement Fund (ATRF), established in 1939, is an independent corporation governed by the Teachers’ Pension Plans Act. ATRF is the trustee, administrator, and custodian of the assets of the Teachers’ Pension Plan for all Alberta teachers employed in school jurisdictions and charter schools. As of 2021, responsibility for the direct management of ATRF investments was transferred to AIMCo.
