The Office of Retirement Services administers retirement programs for Michigan’s state employees, public school employees, judges, state police, and National Guard members. ORS serves more than 553,000 customers (approximately 267,000 active and 288,000 retired), representing one of every 14 Michigan adults. ORS customers live in approximately one of every nine Michigan households. The EPFO administers the mandatory provident fund, a basic pension scheme and a disability/death insurance scheme. EPFO is one of the World’s largest Social Security Organisations in terms of clientele and the volume of financial transactions undertaken.
